Clearing your Path under the Full Moon

The August 2010 full moon is the smallest, farthest full moon of the year. It lies more than 252,000 miles away, in contrast to the moon’s average distance of about 239,000 miles. For more information on the full moon this evening please visit http://earthsky.org/tonight
The name of this August full moon is the Green Corn Moon. This is a perfect time to perform a simple ritual for clearing your path of unwanted obstacles that you have been treading over for some time.
If you can join in a circle then you will perform this together. If you are a solitary practitioner, spread a circle of salt around you and stand within. Take scraps of paper and write the negative thoughts that are holding you back, whether they be about yourself or others you have relationships with. Then burn those pieces of paper while declaring out loud how you choose to see yourself as a loving, powerful, present person. Thank the Goddesses of the moon for your connection to your highest self. That is it! I hope you feel inspiration in the practice of this simple ritual.

  1. If you're going to use other people's images on your blog, you should ask tem first and at least credit the artist and provide a link to the original image: http://www.flickr.com/photos/johncarney/145367145/
